CM: Govt committed to revitalise 'attar' industry

Kanpur: Chief minister Akhilesh Yadav laid the foundation stone of an international perfume museum and park in Kannauj on Tuesday to bring the 'attar' (perfume) town of the state on the global map.
Speaking on the occasion, Yadav said the state government is working towards revitalisation of the perfume industry.
"The perfume park will help showcase the famous 'attar' industry in the global market and help perfume entrepreneurs, farmers and youth," he said.

The CM said that the government has made efforts to transform UP into a model state with inclusive governance as its main agenda to benefit the masses. "To give a boost to the economy, we are in the process of connecting villages to big cities and constructing 302-km-long Agra-Lucknow Expressway. When operational, it will transform the industrial scenario of Uttar Pradesh. The farmers would be benefited the most from it because they would get a big and better market for their produce as large mandis would be constructed alongside the expressway," he said.

"Where have those people gone, who before elections had made people dream of Digital India. People should tell, how many laptops they have distributed after elections," the CM said.
He said that the government would also launch courses in perfumery. "Along with engineering, we will also launch courses in perfumery," he said.
He also laid the foundation of a ultra-modern dairy development plant in Kannauj and directed officials to complete the project soon.
