'Prior permission must for Ram Navami processions'

'Prior permission must for Ram Navami processions'

Patna: The district administration has asked all the 'akhara' committees to take prior permission from the SDO or SDM for taking out processions on Ram Navami on Friday.
Patna DM Sanjay Kumar Agarwal said the SDO or SDM would decide about the number of loudspeakers to be used by 'akharas'. "No procession will be allowed without prior permission and specified route by the authorities concerned," he said.
As part of the arrangements being made for Ram Navami, the district administration would put up makeshift sheds on the roads approaching the Mahavir Mandir near Patna Junction.

"The weather condition is not good for anybody to stand under the sun for a long time. We will put up temporary sheds on the adjoining roads to Mahavir Mandir as the largest number of people in the city throng this temple," the DM said.
There will be two control rooms to receive any kind of complaint from people. One control room will be at the GPO roundabout and the other one will be near Kotwali police station masjid.
"Since it is a Friday, a large number of police personnel will be deployed to avert any disturbances as the day is also important for the Muslim community from religious point of view," said Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj.

The Patna district administration will ensure smooth movement of traffic with minimum diversion during the Ram Navami procession. One flank of every road, especially Bailey Road, will be open for commuters while the other flank will be used for processions.
"Our focus areas will be Patna Junction, Hanuman Mandir, Rajvanshi Nagar Hanuman Mandir and the Panchmukhi Hanuman Mandir on Boring Canal Road as the maximum number of devotees gathered at these places on Ram Navami," the Patna SSP said.
No commercial vehicle going toward Patna Junction will be allowed beyond the GPO roundabout. No commercial vehicle will be allowed to enter the Patna Junction roundabout area. Two-wheelers of the devotees could be parked on the roadside from Veena Cinema to Tata Park while small cars could be parked in front of Palji Hotel.
