Now that Harsha Bhogle's out of the picture, do you have what it takes to replace him?

For better or worse , the BCCI has decided to part ways with the man believed by many to be ’the voice of Indian cricket’ — Harsha Bhogle.

While skeletons will inevitably roll out of closets and the backstory to this seemingly sudden sacking will become clear(er) over the days or weeks to come, the board is already mobilising its talent scouts to locate Harsha’s replacement. It could be your neighbour, maybe the prim-and-proper History teacher you had in Class VIII, possibly a former flame or even — that’s right, even you!

Fortunately, you don’t have to live in suspense much longer because the Firstpost investigative unit has uncovered a part of the leaked standardised test to be administered to potential recruits by the BCCI. This test — that may or may not be genuine — seems to have been designed with a view to separate the wheat from the chaff, the strong from the weak, the Richie Benauds from the Ranjit Fernandos (if that helps).

Judging you on your understanding of the game, your ability to think on the spot, your knowledge of cricket history and lore, and your way with words, this questionnaire is believed to be the surest evaluation of a commentator’s ability to handle the pressures of being part of the BCCI roster.

Without further ado, here’s the test, should you consider yourself up to the challenge:
