Nissan Motor India Private Ltd. (NMIPL) has appointed Deepa Thomas Vice President, Communications and CSR, effective Tuesday (April 12). Thomas will be responsible for all of Nissan's communications in India, including product and corporate matters and CSR activities, as the company continues to strengthen its business operations toward further growth in India.

Thomas will report to Guillaume Sicard, President, Nissan India Operations. She will initially be located in Mumbai and will move with the company to its new head offices in Delhi once operations begin there later this year. Thomas succeeds Lavanya Wadgaonkar, who will move to a new position within Nissan.

Thomas has over 19 years of experience in communications and knowledge gained in external and employee communications. Before joining Nissan, she led the communications function for several Mahindra Group companies as General Manager, Group Communications. Prior to that, she spent 10 years with eBay India in a series of communications roles with increasing level of responsibility. Her career has also included positions with firms in the global skincare industry and on the agency side.
