Naseeruddin Shah and Ratna Pathak in Dubai play

(MENAFN- Khaleej Times) NASEERUDDIN SHAH AND Ratna Pathak Shah will narrate a part of Some Emotion, Some Stories, written by Bisham Sahni this weekend at Sheikh Rashid Auditorium. Other narrators are Yashpal Sharma, Manoj Pahwa and Heeba Shah. Each story highlights Sahni's comment on society.
Samadhi Bhai Ramsingh talks about Ramsingh, who enters a village and starts giving Chirayta (ayurvedic medicine) to everyone for free. He continues to do the same for 10 years and comes to be known as Chirayta sadhu. One day he announces that God had spoken to him and by morning his soul would be free from this bondage forever. Everybody gathers to observe this miracle. To their dismay, he does not die until the following morning. The furious villagers punch him to death, and afterwards, believers start worshipping him.

Yaadein, narrated by Ratna Pathak Shah and Heeba Shah is a woman-centric story that showcases the loneliness of an old woman.
Yashpal Sharma narrates a story that reflects the 'Oob' (boredom) of a professor. Dholak narrated by Manoj Pahwa talks about marriage - an occasion that is treated like a festival and lastly Heeba Shah narrates the position of women in Indian society according to the insights of Bisham Sahni in Sir Ka Sadka.

Some Emotion, Some Stories will be staged at the Sheikh Rashid Auditorium, Indian High School on Saturday, April 16. The tickets are available on Platinum List and are priced at Dhs150, 300, 500 and 700.
