Critic Amur to get prestigious Dr Betageri Krishnasharma award

Dharwad: Noted critic and versatile writer in English, Kannada and Sanskrit, Gururaj Shamrao Amur has been selected for this year's Dr Betageri Krishnasharma award. Informing this to reporters here on Tuesday, Dr Betageri Krishnasharma Foundation president Raghavendra Patil said that Amur was selected for his contribution to the field of research and literature.
Poet Channaveer Kanavi will present the award at Alur Venkatrao Bhavan in Dharwad at 5pm on April 16. Noted poet H S Venkateshmurthy will speak on the works of Amur. The award carries a cash of Rs 1 lakh, a citation and a certificate.
Presented since 2011, the award was instituted in the memory of Krishnasharma. tnn
