Metro court staff move HC
Ahmedabad: After a dalit youth employed at the Metropolitan Court, Ketan Koradiya, committed suicide alleging humiliation on caste lines, three accused have moved Gujarat high court for quashing of FIR on the ground that they shared excellent relationship with the youth.
The co-workers have been booked for abetment to suicide and under atrocity laws after Koradiya hanged himself earlier this month.
He named five of his colleagues in his suicide note and mentioned that they used to humiliate him for his caste.
Three co-workers who have been named by Koradiya in his suicide note - Chandrakant Trivedi, Renuka Barot and Bhadresh Shah - have filed a petition in the HC on Tuesday. They have annexed various photographs featuring them with Koradiya during happy moments. They have claimed that Koradiya was invited and always welcomed in all functions and gathering of co-workers and they shared excellent relationship. The accused have urged the HC to quash the FIR lodged by Koradiya's father with Danilimda police, stay the proceedings and grant protection to them against possible arrest. tnn
