A moving talk by Meera Shenoy at Manthan, Hyderabad

It was an evening with a difference, as Amala Akkineni played host at Manthan - Forum for Public Discourse with author Meera Shenoy, who was launching her book, 'You Can' at Saptaparni. The conversation revolved around empowering the differently-abled, and was peppered with inspiring anecdotes about people who have gone on to achieve great things despite their disabilities. Even as Amala posed thoughtful questions and moderated the talk impeccably, the overwhelmed audience were left moved.Several differently-abled joined in the discussion and opened up about their own experiences. Later, a visually-impaired singer left the guests spellbound with her mellifluous rendition of Bollywood classics. It would not be entirely wrong to say that the attendees left the event with a whole new perspective on life.
