Double triumph for Buckley/Proctor team

What started as a great weekend for Pat Buckley and owner John Proctor with Droopys Roddick winning the €80,000 Kirby Memorial ended up as a real dream few days as their dog Droopys Acrobat scored a 12/1 success in the final of the Gain Dog Food Irish Cesarewitch at Mullingar on Sunday evening.
Buckley had two runners in the line-up for the final of the 600-yard classic and Paradise Maverik was an odds-on favourite to score a repeat win in the event. But the race turned out totally against expectations with the outsider Droopys Acrobat flashing out of traps while Paradise Maverik made a mess of the start.
