Man wanted in several theft cases arrested

A man wanted in several robbery cases was arrested from Phase II police station area in Noida on Monday. The accused, identified as Avdesh, had a reward of Rs 12,000 on his head. He and his accomplices committed three robberies in one night in in 2011.

Noida: A man wanted in several robbery cases was arrested from Phase II police station area in Noida on Monday. The accused, identified as Avdesh, had a reward of Rs 12,000 on his head. He and his accomplices committed three robberies in one night in in 2011.
Raj Kumar Mishra, deputy superintendent of police, STF, said Avdesh hails from Farrukhabad.
"Acting on a tip-off, police arrested him from NSEZ bus stop," he said.
During interrogation, Avdesh revealed that he came to Noida in 2011 in search of a job. He came into contact with one Hariom, Ghanshyam and Khushiram. They arranged a job for Avdesh with a security agency. Avdesh worked for about 15 days as a security guard and along with three men, started committing robberies.
Meanwhile in another case, a person who stole a truck from the Noida-Greater Noida expressway on March 20 has been arrested. The suspect has been identifeid as Muzammil and hails from Hapur. Police recovered a truck and one country-made pistol. They also recovered the Honda City car in which the suspects had come to rob the truck. Irfan and Tazadil, two other accused who were involved in the loot, are still at large and efforts are on to nab them.
