Community yagneopavit ceremony of 15 KP boys held

JAMMU, Apr 11: Swami Kumar Ji Maharaj Geeta Satsang Ashram, Muthi, performed a community yagneopavit ceremony, in which 15 Kashmiri Pandit (KP) boys were blessed with sacred threads along with its sanskars, in presence of large community members.
The programme was held under the guidance of Swami Kumar Ji Maharaj and other well to do community people.
This ashram has so far performed yagneopavit sanskars of 915 KP boys and helped in sermonizing marriages of 35 KP girls belonging to poor families and others. Besides 30 students are being provided with scholarships and seven students are given financial aid for carrying forward their education. This ashram of Swami Kumar Ji has distributed 50,000 Geeta Ji (Holy book) so far to various people of the community and others in particular youths to know the importance of Geeta Ji.
Addressing the religious gathering on this auspicious occasion of Yagneopavit ceremony, Swami Kumar Ji Maharaj highlighted the importance of the yagneopavit, its sacred thread and sanskars.
He said these sanskars should be done in the early age of the boys from 7 to 16 years in a simple manner.
He also appealed the community to preserve their culture, rituals and customs and also respect their parents and elders.
The parents and relatives as well as well meaning personalities of the community said that Swami Kumar Ji Maharaj has played a big role in educating community youth and children how to perform pooja, aarti and reciting the Geeta Ji.
This sacred ceremony was attended by Vijay Bakaya, Former Chief Secretary, BL Bhat, Former High Court Judge, Ashok  Koul, General  Secretary BJP J&K, Kundan Kashmiri, National President, KPC and well known socio-human right activists,  Swami Mohan (Bub Ji ), Dr Sushil  Watal, TN Ganjoo,  AK Sidha, President (Mattan), MK Yogi and Swami Bhai Ji Maharaj.
