NRHM employees meet Health Minister, submit memorandum

JAMMU, Apr 11: A deputation of All J&K NRHM Employees Association as well as All NHM Employees Association, Jammu Division, today separately met Minister for Health and Medical Education, Bali Bhagat, and briefed him about the long pending demands of NHM employees working in the State.
The deputation of All JK NHM Employees Association was headed by its spokesperson, Faizan Ali Tramboo while the deputation of All J&K NRHM Employees Association was headed by its president, Dr Hamid Parrey.
The deputation headed by Faizan Ali apprised the Minister about various problems and demands of NHM employees and discussed the issue of regularization. A charter of demands was also submitted by the deputation to the Minister. The demands included in the charter were immediate regularization of all NHM employees, incentives for paramedics, yearly enhancement of salary at 10%, job security, general insurance to all employees working under NHM, maternity leave benefit for female staff at par with regular staff, equal pay for equal work and fixation of monthly salary for ASHAs.
The deputation also met Mission Director, NHM, J&K, Dr Mohan Singh, and submitted him a memorandum of demands.
The other deputation headed by Dr Parrey also submitted the Minister a charter of demands, which include regularization of employees and salary increment for doctors, RBSK, paramedical and programme management unit. Other demands like salary to ASHA workers with incentives, formulation of transfer policy for NRHM employees after completion of five years of service and life risk cover to all categories of staff working under NRHM, were also highlighted.
The Minister gave a patient hearing to both the deputations and assured to look into their demands. Meanwhile, the Minister gave direction to the Mission Director, Dr Mohan Singh to put up the representation regarding the draft policy of regularization of contractual employees working under NRHM within the shortest possible time.
