Doctorate for Murthy, Saraswat

The University of Mysore on Monday conferred honorary doctorate on Infosys founder and chairman emeritus N.R. Narayana Murthy and scientist and Niti Aayog member V.K. Saraswat at its 96th annual convocation held at Crawford Hall here.

Sri Nirmalananda Swami of Sri Adichunchangiri Mutt, who was also among the recipients of the honorary doctorate, could not make it to the convocation. The doctorate was conferred on the seer in absentia.

Governor Vajubhai Vala presented the honours in the presence of Minister T.B. Jayachandra, Vice-Chancellor K.S. Rangappa and registrars C. Basavaraju and Rajanna.
