IHI to build boiler for Indonesian power plant

TOKYO -- IHI said Monday it has won an order from compatriot Sumitomo Corp. for a boiler to be used in an ultra-supercritical coal-fired power plant in Indonesia.

Located around 80km west of the Indonesian capital of Jakarta, the Lontar power plant currently has three units with a combined output of 945,000kW. The Japanese heavy machinery maker's boiler will be used in a fourth unit, which will increase output by 315,000kW. The new unit will begin operating in 2019.
