Kavach…Kali Shaktiyon Se Promo Review: The first look of Ekta Kapoor’s new show will freak you out!

If Naagin was woven around mythical beliefs, Kavach is all about the dark arts and possession

Naagin is set to go off-air soon and the replacement looks ready. We saw the first promo of Kavach in the morning and the sight of a disheveled Mona Singh with bloodshot eyes is still vivid in our minds. Yes, this is new show from Ekta Kapoor’s stable and the first impression is damn scary. As expected, it delves into the supernatural, the dark arts to be more specific. We know a bit of the story, which is based on the fable of Satyavan and Savitri, where the wife goes to any extent to save the life of her husband. Vivek Dahiya aka ACP Abhishek of Yeh Hai Mohabbatein is the stud in distress with the spirit of a former lover, played by Maheck Chahal swearing to make his life hell. From the promos, we see that she won’t spare his wife, the part of which is played by actress Mona Singh. Maheck plays a daayan (witch) on the show. Chants of the Hanuman Chalisa are also incorporated in the promo signifying the ultimate fight between the good and the evil. We also see bits of horror classics in scenes where Mona Singh is lifted in the air and one where the chandelier is about to fall on Vivek. Considering the spate of supernatural shows on TV, Kavach is an expected addition. However, we think it will be far scarier than its predecessor, Naagin.
