Rina Akter’s body was recovered from the couple’s rented home in Khejurbagan on Sunday noon, said Ashulia police Sub-Inspector Ekramul Haque.

The 26-year old victim’s husband Mizanur Rahman is currently on the run, police suspect.

Rahman works as a driver at a textile factory at Savar.

SI Haque said Rahman’s erratic behaviour when he was leaving in the morning had alarmed the building’s security guard Ayub Ali.

Ali went inside the couple’s home and found Rina Akter in a puddle of blood.

He then informed the owner of the house who later called police, said Haque.

The police officer said they suspect Rahman fled after killing her wife over a discord.

The victim’s body was later sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital for post-mortem.
