Maoist Ravi cremated

A large number of people were present as the last rites of a top leader of CPI (Maoist) Kudumula Venkata Ramana alias Ravi were performed at his native village Kommangi in Chintapalle mandal on Sunday afternoon.

Ravi, who carried a reward of Rs. 20 lakh on his head and was with the Maoist party since 1998, died due to jaundice on Saturday.

After a large number of people paid respects to Ravi’s body kept at his parents’ house, several hundreds participated in the funeral procession to the cremation ground a couple of km from the village.

Ravi’s elder brother Sekhar lit the pyre.

MLAs of Araku and Paderu Kidari Sarveswara Rao and Giddi Eswari, BJP leader and member of Central Coffee Board Lokula Gandhi, a human rights leader of Paderu Ch. Lokanadham, tribal employees association leader K. Kondala Rao were among those present.
