Rooftop traveller electrocuted near Matunga station
MUMBAI: A rooftop traveller was electrocuted near Matunga station on Central Railway main line around 7.15 pm. This led to bunching of few trains on the Down fast track, and even some long distance trains were delayed.
"Despite repeated warnings, awareness camps and advertisements, commuters are still travelling on rooftop. One such passenger who was travelling in a Down fast train got electrocuted and he was declared dead on way to hospital", said a CR official :
A few fast trains were stopped behind this train, and some commuters also jumped on tracks to walk to nearest station.

A fast train for Badlapur was subsequently diverted on the slow track after Byculla station and was run on slow track before being re-diverted on the fast track.
