The year 2016 seems to be a year of break-ups for television celebrities. After Kritika Kamra-Siddharth Bijpuria, Sara Khan-Rishabh Tandon, Anas Rashid-Rati Pandey and Ravi Bhatia-Heena Parmar, latest reports suggest that Pearl V Puri and Asmita Sood have parted ways as well.

Both Pearl and Asmita rose to popularity with "Phir Bhi Na Maane...Badtameez Dil." Although the couple never admitted to being in a relationship, rumours did the rounds that they were madly in love with each other and appeared inseparable on the sets of the show.

However, with the show going off air a few months ago, it appears that the couple too has called it quits. Apparently, Pearl is currently dating Hiba Nawab, his co-star in the new show "Meri Saasu Maa".

"Pearl and I are not in touch anymore. He was a very special person in my life and we shared a great bond. He was more than a good friend to me. But there were lot of things that were hidden from me, which I got to know from other people. Now, he has different set of friends and I am occupied with my daily meetings. Life is not always the same...so yes, things have changed a lot and we don't talk to each other anymore," Asmita told Tellychakkar.com.

The rumours of the break-up reportedly began after the duo unfollowed each other on Instagram. Talking about it, Asmita said that since they are no longer friends, they need not follow each other on social media as well. "Talking about unfollowing each other on Instagram, that's because when we are not friends, why do I follow a stranger? His updates don't give me good vibes," Asmita added.

Pearl and Asmita played the roles of Abeer and Meher on "Phir Bhi Na Maane...Badtameez Dil" and their sizzling on-screen chemistry was loved by viewers. According to recent reports Pearl and Asmita were approached by the makers of the celebrity dance reality show, "Nach Baliye 8," to participate on the show. Asmita is said to have refused the offer saying that the two were just good friends, and not a couple, as was required by the format of the show.
