Madagascar Prime Minister Denies Report His Cabinet Resigned

Madagascar’s Prime Minister Jean Ravelonarivo said he hasn’t yet stepped down after the the presidency said on Friday that the premier and his cabinet had resigned.

“I did not sign my resignation letter. I will do it at any given moment,” Ravelonarivo said in a statement on Friday, adding he needs to first consult his family.

Ravelonarivo, a former air force general, was appointed in January 2015 after the previous government quit mid criticisms over deteriorating living conditions in the Indian Ocean island.
