MBABANE – Manqoba ‘Dunga’ Kunene and Sizwe Khumalo will miss this weekend’s SwaziBank Cup quarter-final games due to the notorious yellow card rule.

The two players have accumulated three yellow cards in the previous games, and as per the rules, they will have to sit out this weekend’s important games.
Dunga will not feature in tomorrow’s crunch quarter-final clash against fellow armed forces side Green Mamba at Somhlolo National Stadium after being cautioned during the club’s barren draw against the Correctional Services side.

“We have three players who are suspended as a result of having accumulated three yellow cards. They are Manqoba Kunene, of Young Buffaloes, Sizwe Khumalo of Royal Leopard, and Sandile Mkhonta of Sikhalo SeAfrika,” said PLS Chief Operations Officer (COO) Petros Vilakati yesterday.

Royal Leopard PRO Frank Hurube confirmed receiving letter of suspension for Khumalo ahead of their crunch clash against Mbabane Swallows on Sunday at Somhlolo National Stadium. “We have been officially notified about Sizwe’s suspension, but we have no problem because we registered 25 able players. We are training hard ahead of the game and we are sure that the technical bench will get a proper replacement for Sizwe,” he said. Young Buffaloes PRO Sandile Gwebu also said that his team would be without the veteran midfielder, but was quick to assure the club’s supporters that they had an equally capable replacement in the club to do the business.

The last eight of the SwaziBank Cup kicks off tomorrow at Somhlolo National Stadium with the first match pitting Red Lions against Manzini Sea Birds at 2pm. The match will precede the pick of the day between Green Mamba and Young Buffaloes. On Sunday, Tambuti F.C will play Malanti Chiefs at 1:30pm before the main match pitting Royal Leopard against Mbabane Swallows at 3:30pm.
