Carmelo Anthony would like input on the Knicks’ next coach

When it comes time to decide who the Knicks’ next head coach will be, Carmelo Anthony would like to have some say in the matter.

Speaking after a 111–97 loss to the Hornets on Wednesday, Anthony said that he thinks communicating with the team’s front office will be key this off-season.

“I would love to have some type of input when it comes to that,” Anthony said. “I think you have to have some type of input, whether it's input or dialogue, whatever word that you want to use.

“At this point it needs to be some type of connection, some type of communication. Especially if we want to right this ship, there definitely needs to be some type of communication.”

Team president Phil Jackson is reportedly considering hiring interim Kurt Rambis, who took over following the firing of Derek Fisher in February, as the team‘s full-time coach. New York is 8–18 since the dismissal of Fisher.

If the team were to move on from Rambis, Anthony would play under his fifth different coach in seven years.
