Bizman tries to murder wife

Bhandara: Ajay Bhagwat, elder brother of renowned businessman Abhay Alias Balya Bhagwat, and three accomplices were arrested by Bhandara police on charges of attempting to murder Mitali Bhagwat, Balya Bhagwat’s wife. The accused were produced before a magistrate and sent to police custody remand till April 13. Police are looking for Balya Bhagwat and three accomplices, who are absconding.
Balya Bhagwat is a very wealthy person and a prominent government contractor. He is involved in a divorce and custody dispute with wife Mitali. One of the four men who tried to kill Mitali on April 2 in her flat was caught, leading to the attempt to murder case against all these accused.
, four persons came to Mitali’s flat in Vaishnavi Apartment posing as plumbers. After entering, two persons caught hold of Mitali, tied and gagged her, and rolled her in a blanket to try and suffocate her. They also planned to hang her body from the ceiling fan to make it look like a suicide.
However, a person who incidentally came to Mitali’s apartment at that moment to collect rent saw all this and confronted the attackers. He was attacked but managed to catch one of the attackers and rescue Mitali. The case was handed over to saw all this Bhandara Deputy SP Jogdand, who arrested Ajay Bhagwat, elder brother of Mitali’s husband Abhay, Chhotu alias Jitu Rehapade, Navin Landge and Rakesh Rakhade. Abhay Bhagwat, Pankaj Bukavan and one more accused are absconding. Pankaj Bukavan has applied for anticipatory bail but the matter has not come up before the court.
Abhay Bhagwat is Shiv Sena leader and well connected to IAS officers.
