Patna: At least seven criminals broke into the house of a homeopathy doctor at Gulmahiya Bagh under the Deedarganj police station area and looted cash and valuables worth Rs 15 lakh on Wednesday night. Dr Surendra Parasad Yadav told police on Thursday morning that his family members were asleep when the criminals entered the house around 1am. "Seven men, carrying sticks, broke open the rear gate of my house on the ground floor.
The sound of shifting a fridge positioned just beside the gate woke us up," said the doctor in his complaint. The criminals locked the house inmates in one room and snatched their cellphones. "While two men kept an eye on us, five of them opened the lockers and took away Rs 10 lakh and jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh," said the doctor. Patna SSP Manu Maharaaj said, "It appears that the gang has been involved in other loot cases as well." tnn its members knew how to break open a rear gate. While a dog squad has been sent to the house, three persons have been detained in this connection."
