Medeama Sporting Club goalkeeper, Muntari Tagoe says they are ready for the CAF Confederation Cup tie against Al Shendy of Sudan.

Last season's MTN FA Cup winners knocked out Libyan side, Al Itthad 2-1 on aggregate about three weeks ago to book a ticket to the second phase of the continent's inter-club football competition.

The team left Accra on Wednesday night to Sudan for the first leg fixture, and Muntari Tagoe promised Ghanaians they are ready to fly high the flag of Ghana.

"We are ever ready for the game. In our last game we played well and we won and we are building on it," Muntari Tagoe said prior to the team's departure at the Kotoka International Airport.

"We don't know them that much but we know ourselves and we know how to approach the game. We just pray we have a very good field and we will do our best to qualify before the second leg here (Ghana)," he added.

Scoring goals away from home is vital in CAF's elite club football competition, and Muntari Tagoe is optimistic they will return to Ghana with the upper hand in the leg.

"We will do all we can to score and make sure we don't concede, even if we are to concede we don't want to concede more than one so that the return leg Ghana will be an easy one for us."

He also reiterated that the Mauve and Yellows target is to reach the group stages of the competition and Ghanaians should back them spiritually to achieve that.

"I am assuring Ghanaians will do our best and go far in the competition. Our target is the money and Ghanaians should just throw their weight behind us to the country proud. We need their prayers," he admonished.
