Anil Kapoor's Mr India, Aamir Khan's Taare Zameen Par, Inside Out - 7 children's films that Pahlaj Nihalani might find SCARIER than The Jungle Book!

The Jungle Book has been given a U/A rating, because the CBFC chairman found the movie scary!

James Bond...please make way for Mowgli....

...for Jon Favreau's latest film about the lovable feral boy has scared the CBFC chairman so much that the film has got a U/A rating! Also Read - Bigg Boss OTT 3: NOT Salman Khan, but THESE stars approached to host the show?

The live action film has impressed us with the amazing visuals shown in the trailer, with the brilliant motion capture technology and a terrific voice cast in Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Giancarlo Esposito, Lupita Nyong'o, Christopher Walken and Scarlett Johansson! The Jungle Book has been Rudyard Kipling's most adored story, and the television series in the '90s about Mowgli (with Nana Patekar voicing Shere Khan) has been our our favourite pastime in childhood! However, our Censor Board chairman Pahlaj Nihalani (who had mercilessly neutered James Bond in SPECTRE) found the film scary, and gave the film a U/A rating. The reason he said was that, a few scenes will be too intimidating for the kids, and parental discretion is definitely advised! Having seen the movie and have reviewed it, I can certainly say that, yes, the movie has a couple of frightening scenes, but not so much that it warrants a U/A rating! Actually, I am still to decipher the meaning of U/A rating...I mean, what does it mean? U means everyone can see, while A means only adults can watch. so what exactly is U/A? If my memory is not poor, I remember Bajirao Mastani getting a U rating, and that film had a lot of war scenes and kinda promotes extra-marital affairs, so that is OK with our Censor Board! BTW, Pahlaj sahab, even if you had given the movie a U rating, no parents would send their kids alone to the movie theatre!

Anyways, if Pahlaj Nihalani finds The Jungle Book scary, we are not sure how he will rate the below films:

Mr India

The all-time fave children's movie of India (have watched 187 times already...and still yearning to watch another time!) will definitely scare the hell out of the CBFC chairman! The film has one of the most fearful villains of all time in Mogambo, who orders three of his henchmen into a vat of acid. We then horrifically watch these three jump into the vat without question, and see the acid burn through their flesh leaving nothing but bones! God, even Game of Thrones wasn't that gory!

Plus, the film also has one of the most erotically charged songs in Kaante Nahi kaththi...Who gave this movie a U rating?

Anjali

This Mani Ratnam film may have some very popular kids songs and dances, and a touching story. But it also introduces the kids to one of the most scariest facts of life - the inevitability of DEATH...and that your father might or might not be having an affair on the side!

Taare Zameen Par

One thing that scared me the most as a child was my parents threatening to send me to a boarding school if I didn't behave properly! This movie just made my nightmare come true!

It has a freaking scary WITCH in the lead (never mind, she turned out to be an impostor later)! Every single scene of Shabana Azmi in that grotesque makeup freaks me out more than any films in the Insidious franchise or Anil Kapoor's hairy body!

Stanley Ka Dabba

A student is shown being blackmailed by the teacher just to bring lunch? God, don't we already hate schools and are frightened of our teachers enough that you shove another scary one right into our faces? And that climax of Stanley's real existence still gives me the CREEPS...Why should the kids be educated about the harsh realities of life?

Chillar Party

So much nudity....so much nudity...even Daenerys Targaryen is blushing!

Inside Out

A Hollywood animation flick that taught the children that every single moment that they are loving and enjoying now will not last forever! Just so DEPRESSING!
