6 arrested for smuggling bovines

JAMMU, Apr 6: Six persons have been arrested for smuggling bovine animals to Valley.
As per police sources, police laid a naka near Ban Toll Plaza in Nagrota and intercepted two vehicles bearing registration numbers JK05E-4571 and JK02AE-2637.
During checking, police rescued 28 bovine animals and arrested six persons, who have been identified as Ghulam Nabi, son of Abdul Rehman of Baramula, Asgar Ahmed, son of Muneer Hussain of Challa Boniyar Uri, Mohammad Lateef, son of Mohammad Yousaf of Raipura Jagir, Abdul Hamid, son of Mohammad Mussa of Channi Rakwal, Mehraj Din, son of Chandia Kassana of Kangan Ganderbal and Jehangir Ahmed, son of Nazir Ahmed of Dharga Srinagar.
Cases under FIR Number 82/16 and 83/16 have been registered at Nagrota police station and investigation started.
Police team led by SHO Nagrota Inspector Karan Chalotra made the arrest under the supervision of SDPO Nagrota Bharat Bhushan Sharma and Additional SP Rural Arun Gupta.
