Two Maoists arrested

Chhapra: Saran police arrested Mukesh Sahni, an active member of CPI (Maoist), from village Dadanpur under Maker PS area of the district on Tuesday night for allegedly demanding levy of Rs25 lakh from one Gobardhan Sah, a gold merchant of Parsa. Gobardhan had lodged an FIR with Parsa PS on March 29 in this connection.
Police sources said based on Mukesh's information, another Maoist Sanjai Sahni has been arrested from village Chakkisuhagpur under Paru PS area in Muzaffarpur district.Mukesh is a relative of Saran Zila Parishad member.
Saran SP Pankaj Kumar Raj said Gobardhan had received a phone call on March 28 allegedly from Rajan who demanded Rs25 lakh from him. He warned the trader of dire consequences if he failed to follow this dictate. tnn
