7 held for assaulting KSRTC employees
Kochi: Police have arrested seven people on charges of assaulting KSRTC employees and damaging buses parked at Koothattukulam depot in Muvattupuzha on Tuesday.
The arrested have been identified as Jibu Jose (20), Sumesh (20), Bijil Balan (18), Sharon Francis (18), Prince Jose (20), Jinson Mathew (20) and Jishnu Vijay (19). Police said that the incident occurred in the early hours on Tuesday.
The gang barged into the KSRTC depot and assaulted around five employees who were on duty.
They also smashed glasses of three buses.
According to police, the youth damaged the buses allegedly after a superfast bus did not allow their car to overtake.
Youth held with banned tobacco products: The Kalamassery police have arrested a youth on charge of possessing banned tobacco products and foreign cigarettes. The arrested, Haris (37) of Nadapuram near Vadakara, had brought the products from Coimbatore. The accused was held in a routine vehicle checking.
