One dies in accident at Sakhali
Bicholim: A 26-year-old motorcyclist from Kodal-Karapur, Bicholim, died and his pillion rider was seriously injured after the motorcycle they were travelling on collied with an oncoming tipper truck near a fast food centr at Gokulwadi, Sakhali, on Monday at around noon.
Police have registered an offence against the deceased for rash and negligent riding, resulting in his own death.

Bicholim police said the deceased, identified as Vaishnav Vasant Sawal, was heading to the primary health centre (PHC) Sakhali, to visit a friend who was injured in a motorcycle accident.
He was accompanied by Suresh Pawar, 16, from the same area. When they approached the fast food centre, their motorcycle, which was in the wrong direction, collided against a tipper truck.
Both victims were rushed to PHC Sakhali, and later shifted to Goa medical college (GMC) and hospital, Bambolim. Sawal died while undergoing treatment at GMC, while Pawar is undergoing treatment.
A panchanama was conducted at the site of the accident by Bicholim ASI Harichandra Parab. PSI Anand Narvekar is investigating the matter under the guidance of PI Narayan Chimulkar.
Police have booked the offence against the deceased Sawal under Sections 279, 337 and 304-A of the Indian Penal Code (IPC).
