LG earmarks N1m to replace water pumps
Kiyawa Kiyawa Local Government Area of Jigawa has set aside N1m to replace damaged borehole hand pump kits for adequate water supply in the area.
The Council’s Information Officer, Malam Balarabe Abdullahi disclosed this to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Monday in Dutse, Jigawa.
Abdullahi said that the Caretaker Chairman of the LGA, Alh. Abdullahi Suleiman, made commitment to make the fund available while inspecting water schemes in the area.
He said that the council would also repair all grounded water generating sets to improve water supply in the area.
Abdullahi said the council had directed its water committee to estimate the cost of all the grounded submersible pumps.
According to him, the committee was also charged to ensure adequate monitoring of water facilities against vandalism.
