Prominent insurance industry director Duncan West has been appointed Non-Executive Chairman of the Lawcover group.

He succeeds Robert Dolk, who has been chairman since 2012 and a director since 2010.

Mr West is also Chairman of Hollard Holdings and Pacific Life Re Australia, and a non-executive director of Avant Insurance, Hallmark Insurance and the Doctors Health Fund.

He has been a member of the Lawcover board for four years.

Before becoming a professional non-executive director in 2013 Mr West was EGM insurance at NAB and MLC Wealth. He is also a former CEO of CGU and Vero.

Lawcover Insurance provides professional indemnity cover to law practices in NSW and the ACT, plus several national firms.

It is a wholly owned subsidiary of the Law Society of NSW.
