Kallol Roy has taken over as Chairman and Managing Director of the Bharatiya Nabhikiya Vidyut Nigam Limited (BHAVINI), Kalpakkam, with effect from March 31 following superannuation of Perumal Chellapandi.
BHAVINI is responsible for the construction, commissioning, operation and maintenance of the 500-MWe Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam. Dr. Roy was head of the Research Reactor Maintenance Division, Reactor Group, BARC. He was responsible for total maintenance management of all plant systems and equipment, carrying out modifications and upgrading mechanical and electrical systems and computerising various plant systems, a release said.
He has a Ph.D in fault diagnostics-systems and control from IIT-B and a post doctorate degree in computer process control from the University of Alberta, Canada.
