Hyderabad: General Diary entry for celebrating West Indies win

The incident occurred near Mandi in Madannapet after India lost the T20 cricket match on Thursday night to the West Indies team.

Hyderabad: Police made a General Diary (GD) entry against four youths under the City Police Act for bursting crackers after the West Indies won the cricket match against India two days ago, describing it as ‘public nuisance’.

Earlier, a BJP leader had alleged that the youths also shouted anti India slogans, but Madannapet inspector K.P.V. Raju said that he was present at the spot and there was no such sloganeering.

The incident occurred near Mandi in Madannapet after India lost the T20 cricket match on Thursday night to the West Indies team. "Some youngsters burst crackers at night after the match. The locals found it annoying," said an official.

After the incident, a BJP leader approached the police saying that there were anti-India sloganeering by the same youths, but cops found it to be false.
"I and my team was there at the spot.

There was no such sloganeering. Since there was nuisance we registered a case under the City Police Act and made a GD entry," said inspector K.P.V. Raju.
