Though the United Democratic Front (UDF) is yet to formally announce its candidates for the Assembly election, UDF workers anticipating K. Sudhakaran as the Congress party’s choice for the Uduma constituency have begun campaigning for the firebrand leader.

The UDF workers, especially those from the IUML, stared writing wall posters in a big way in and around Bekal since Thursday.

The UDF workers were found to be upbeat ever since Mr. Sudhakaran was tipped as the UDF candidate.

Barring the 1987 election, the constituency had been favouring the Left Democratic Front in the eight elections held since 1980. CPI(M) has pitted sitting MLA K. Kunhiraman in a bid to retain control of the segment.
