Gurgaon: A 27-year-old man was shot at by his colleagues on Friday morning in Sohna. They also opened fire at passersby, injuring a woman and creating panic in the area. An FIR has been lodged against three people, but no arrest has been made yet.
Police said the victim, Pawan of Sampki Nangli village, is a history-sheeter who had been jailed for extortion, and was released on bail a month and a half ago.
He also holds other criminal records. Pawan had recently joined a company, and was working on a project.
On Friday at 11 am, Pawan was returning home on a two-wheeler with his friend. A car hit the two-wheeler, and five persons stepped out of the car and started shooting at Pawan. Police said around six rounds of shots were fired, of which three hit Pawan on his leg and back. As passersby rushed to the aid of Pawan and his friend, the shooters brandished guns at them too. After firing, they sped in their car, injuring a woman.
Pawan was rushed to a private hospital, where he is said to be recuperating. He told the police that the shooters included three of his colleagues from office, Subhash, Tejpal and Kulwant, who recently had an argument with him over a project.
An FIR has been registered under sections 307 (murder attempt), 34 (common intention) of IPC and 25-54-59 of the Arms Act.
