Two killed in accident

Two motorists were killed after their vehicle hit a van near Thevattipatti here on Friday. P. Manickam (27), a labourer of Kanjanaickenpatty, along with his friends Arul (24) and Selvaraj (40) was returning home from Omalur in a two-wheeler. Manickam was riding the vehicle. While nearing Naripallam bus stop, the two-wheeler hit the rear of a van moving in the front. The three fell on the road. While Manickam died on the way to hospital, Selvaraj died at Government Mohan Kumaramangalam Medical College Hospital on Friday.

Woman murdered

A 48-year-old woman was found murdered at her residence in Edappadi here on Friday. Valli was married to Settu. However, due to dispute both were living separately. She was working at a private company in Coimbatore and used to visit the house at Kamaraj Nagar in Bodinaickenpatti once in three days. A neighbour visited her house on Friday morning and found Valli dead with her head smashed. Edappadi police were informed.
