Bir Devinder at it again, this time targets Randhawa

“If he wants to hang me, he should at least assign an experienced hangman. I am willing to be hanged but at least consider my personality and assign a senior man. I do not want to be tried by an MLA, much junior to me. His father and I were colleagues. In 1980, I was the Chief Whip and his father was a minister. My whip would cover him also. Why cannot he assign this task to an ex-PPCC president. Quite a few are sitting idle with nothing to do,” said Bir Devinder.

On whether Prashant’s meeting with him did not help calm the tension, Bir Devinder said, “Prashant is a well meaning person. He came with great expectations and good intention. He and I are on the same page. I would not belie his expectations from me,” he said.

Bir Devinder said it was sad that he was not involved by either former Punjab Congress President Partap Singh Bajwa nor Amarinder to speak at any party forum. “I am not among those who snatch the mic to speak. Amarinder knows how my vocal chords dried up in Amritsar when I asked people to vote for him as their MP. Amarinder wants to slit the same throat,” he said.

Calling Prashant a “miracle man” Devinder credited him for Narendra Modi’s victory and bringing Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Lalu Prashad Yadav together. “He came to me yesterday to douse these flames. I will certainly respond. He was not an ordinary visitor to me. He is on a mission in Punjab. I too have the same mission. We both want Akalis out and bring Congress to power.” he said.
