Ulaganayagan Kamal Haasan is one of the best actors Tamil cinema has ever seen. But his influence extends beyond Kollywood to Indian cinema as a whole and the actor has even been gaining international recognition lately. The veteran has already won Padma Shri, Padma Bhushan, National Award and Kalaimamani award for his efforts as an artist. Now, he adds another feather in his cap. Kamal Haasan was honoured with the Henri Langlois award in Paris recently. He received this prestigious award for his great contribution to Indian cinema. Henri Langlois was a very famous French film archivist. He was in fact considered to be a pioneer of film preservation. One can draw parallel with PK Nair, who was was the greatest archivist of Indian cinema and the founder of the National Awards. Nair has been called Henri Langlois of Indian cinema for his contributions. So in many ways, this award equals the honour of bagging the National award for the Ulaganayagan. Upon being conferred this honour, Kamal took to Twitter and said that," Received the Henri Langlois award in Paris . Wish Ananthu sir my guru had been alive to hear this. Heard of Langlois only through him."

The Ulaganayagan will soon begin working on the special family film that will also feature his daughter Shruti Haasan. Meanwhile, Vishwaroopam 2 is in post production stage and will release sometime this year.
