Worker ends life on Indo Rama premises

Nagpur: A menial contractual labourer, PrafulKosare, hanged himself to death on the premises of Indo Rama Synthetics at Butibori. The body was spotted on the terrace of a section of Indo Rama factory by other workers on Thursday morning. He had used a rope to hang himself from a rod on the terrace. Kosare, who worked under a private contractor, was on duty in the night shift.A native of Amgaon, Wardha Road, Kosare had been working in the company for the last seven years. His suicide created ripples in the factory. Work at the company was disrupted for the most part of the day, with labourers clamouring for compensation. Cops from Butibori had to rush to the company to intervene in the workers’ agitation.
It’s learnt that the company offered to help Kosare’s family but no agreement could be reached on the issue as of now.
Police said there was no suicide note found from the place. Senior PI Bharat Thackerey of Butibori police station said the reason behind the drastic step taken by Kosare is not yet known. “Family members did not share anything with police which could help us to reach any conclusion regarding the reason behind the suicide,” he said. A case of accidental death has been registered at Butibori police station.
