Yaadein Vision United Fiji Community have reached out to help four schools and villages in Bua with stationery and food packs yesterday.

The members of the group went to Vuya District School, Nadi District School, Kubulau District School and Baravi District School which were all partly damaged by Tropical Cyclone Winston in February.

Yaadein Vision United Fiji Community members Mohammed Rafiq and Mohammed Harun said they provided 55 food packs to families living in Vuniasa, Nabebe, Nabere, Vunirara and Waikonakawa.

“The students were so happy to see supplies of stationery that they came forward to shake hands with us,” Mr Rafqi said.

“We gave whatever we could to support rebuilding their lives and expected nothing in return.

“However, they paid us with a smile which we have longed to see giving us a ray of hope to life.

“Even the families that received food package welcomed us by saying ‘bula’ which means greetings in iTaukei language and ‘vinaka’ (thank you) with a positive attitude.

“I asked them from where they got their strength to rebuild their lives, they replied saying only through God.

“I would like to thank the founder of our organisation Bobby Mishra who is in Australia for providing us with funds to assist stricken families in Bua,” he said.
