Punjab Vidhan Sabha speaker Dr. Charanjit Singh Atwal today said that the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party led Punjab government is committed for the overall development of the state and that is why, even the rural areas are being developed at par with the urban areas of the state. He said this while distributing cheques worth Rs 78 lakh for development works in different villages of Payal constituency today.Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal today visited villages Raul, Jahangir, Lapran, Buani, Landha, Jaipura, Chankoiya Kalan, Rampur, Katana Sahib, Begowal, Araichan and Mallipur.While addressing the gatherings in these villages, Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal said that the Shiromani Akali Dal-Bharatiya Janta Party led Punjab government is committed for the overall development of the state. He said that is why, Chief Minister Mr Parkash Singh Badal and Deputy CM Mr Sukhbir Singh Badal has formulated a plan in which the all rural villages of the state are developed at par with the urban areas. Speaker Dr Atwal said that there is no shortage of funds when it comes to carrying development works. He said that today's grants worth Rs 78 lakh have been issued for carrying development works in the villages of Payal constituency and more such grants would be issued soon.He said that for preserving our history and culture, several memorials have been constructed in the state which include Maharaja Dalip Singh Memorial (Bassian Kothi), Chappar Chiri, Virasat-E-Khalsa, besides several others.Dr Charanjit Singh Atwal stated that the train from Payal to Hazoor Sahib under the Chief Minister Tirath Yatra Scheme would leave on May 31, 2016.
