Vyapam scam: Mohindra moves HC for bail

Jabalpur: Madhya Pradesh high court (MPHC) on Wednesday asked CBI to submit a status report on alleged Vyapam scam accused Nitin Mohindra's case.
Jabalpur bench issued a notice while hearing Mohindra's bail application. Mohindra has moved the court claiming that he has been arrested by the state police without any major evidence.
He was arrested by Indore crime branch officers in 2013 for his alleged role in Pre-Medical Test (PMT) scam along with Jagdish Sagar and others.
Later, 12 more cases were registered against him before the case was taken over by the CBI.
He had been in jail since then. This is his first attempt for bail. CBI is likely to file an objection following inputs that data from more computers used by Mohindra will open a can of worms.
Sources said role of top bureaucrats and ministers, who have not been named in the scam, has come under scanner. New file includes excel sheet, which contains names of around 18 candidates, who were selected in most controversial ‘transport constable' recruitment scam.
