Kay Burley has been trolled on Twitter after she complained about her treatment at celebrity haunt Chiltern Firehouse.

The Sky News broadcaster has been blasted by followers online for her comments regarding the restaurant's service, ranting that her party weren't allowed to finish their £130 bottle of wine at their table.

She ranted: "So #chilternfirehouse - properly get over yourself. Ridiculous superior attitude to diners. We won't be returning.

"We paid £130 for a bottle of average wine with dinner but weren't allowed to finish at the table and no space at the bar... #chilternfirehouse (sic)".

It didn't take long for followers to hit back at her complaints, targeting the pricey drink as they poked fun at her outrage.

One wrote: "£130 for 'average' wine. This is one of the many pondlife vermin in our media. Boohoo ya elitist s****ehawk. (sic)"

Another responded to Kay discussing her upbringing, and referenced the classic Four Yorkshiremen sketch, joking: "You were lucky to have a house. There were 114 of us living in a septic tank and our dad used to thrash us to sleep wi' is belt. (sic)"

Kay didn't seem too amused, firing back: "Oh do push off, posh boy, us plebs are chatting".

Another follower calmly asked: "Appreciate you tweeted in frustration, but given economic climate, was it wise to tweet about spending £130 on wine?"

The TV journalist referenced earlier tweets, noting that she had received "little response" - whilst she continued to urge her critics to use the hashtag #chilternfirehouse.

Some Twitter users defended Kay, including one who sarcastically tweeted: "Love the outrage on Twitter that a woman in full employment elected to spend some of her earnings on a meal out. How dare you (sic)".
