While we have seen many mimicry artistes imitating actors and politicians, very few take up the challenge of mimicking singers. Now, an artiste from Kozikode in Kerala has surprised lakhs of netizens by imitating a few renowned Indian singers.
"Dear ones, I have been performing mimicry in many stages for the past 15 years, but I never got an opportunity to be part of any channel show or mega events. Therefore, this is my attempt to showcase my talent. I request each one of you to watch and share the video [sic]," Nizam posted on his Facebook page.
In the video posted on his social media page, Nizam is seen singing exactly like legendary musicians Ilayaraja, KJ Yesudas, Vani Jayaram, S Janaki, KP Udayabhanu, Lata Mangeshkar, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Asha Bhosle, Mohammed Rafi and SP Balasubrahmanyam. He has also imitated KG Markose, Jassie Gift, Kumar Sanu, Mano, Swarnalatha, Peer Mohammed, TM Soundararajan, AM Rajah, Shanu Lavudikkana and AV Muhammed in the video.
The 16-minute video, recorded in a studio and posted March 27 on Nizam's Facebook page, has gone viral on social media with more than 3.2 lakh views within three days. Many have been praising the artiste's talent, tenacity and range.
