Vishva Hindu Parishad objects to ISI official of JIT visiting Pathankot

    ET Bureau
NEW DELHI: Vishva Hindu Parishad has expressed objection to India accepting an ISI official in the Pakistani Joint Investigation Team visiting Pathankot, saying a culprit cannot investigate a crime in which he is involved.
“There is one ISI man in the JIT that has been given access to the attack site in Pathankot. We have strong objection to this. Ek chor apni jaanch swayam kare, yeh hame sweekar nahi (a thief investigating his own case is not acceptable to us),” Surendra Jain, VHP Joint General Secretary told ET.

VHP hopes the NDA government’s decision to walk the extra mile in allowing a probe team from Pakistan will result in some action from the neighbouring country against those involved in the case.

On the controversy over “Bharat Mata ki Jai” and AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi refusing to raise it, Jain sought to know why anybody living in India should have any objection to the slogan. “Every country has a slogan and for India it is Bharat Mata ki Jai. We call Mata (mother) somebody we respect. Does Owaisi have an objection to it? Does he only want to say ‘Allah ho Akbar”? So, does he want to say victory to Allah but not Bharat Mata ki Jai?...,” Jain said.
