I don't feel bad being compared to Jiiva: Jithan Ramesh

''Srushti Dange is paired opposite me. Robo Shankar, Karunas and Mayilsamy are also a part of the movie''.

Life has changed a lot for Ramesh Choudary, better known as Jithan Ramesh. Now, he’s more careful about choosing scripts and what he wants to do. Though the actor was last seen in a couple of cameos — Osthi was a noteworthy one — it has been a while since we saw him onscreen, doing full-fledged roles.
Ramesh tells DC, “I was actually getting a lot of offers, but I was looking for the right film. Currently, I am working on Jithan 2. Srushti Dange is paired opposite me. Robo Shankar, Karunas and Mayilsamy are also a part of the movie. This film isn’t a sequel to Jithan but is a horror thriller. Since Jithan is a brand by itself, we wanted to go with the same name.”

We ask him what it’s like to have brother who’s a successful hero (Jiiva)?
“Not always can one be successful. But the nice thing is that Jiiva never puts me down — he’s always been supportive. When people appreciate him, I feel happy. At the sam time, I don’t feel bad at all, when they compare him to me!” he smiles.
Quiz him if we might see Jiiva and him together in films someday, and Ramesh says Bala’s Avan Ivan was first offered to the two of them! “Bala sir approached us first for the movie, but somehow it didn’t happen. If we get a fantastic script, we might consider it,” he adds.

On a concluding note, Ramesh says he’s game for negative roles! “Back then, I liked seeing myself on the silver screen, but wasn’t sure whether I’d done my job well. But now I know what will suit me, and what won’t. I’d like to play negative roles that are edgy. The role needs to have sufficient justification, otherwise it will fall flat. If someone comes up with a solid script, why not? I am open to doing something unusual, too.”
