9 state boys score 99.99 percentile in MAHCET for MBA
Mumbai: Nine boys from the state have scored an enviable 99.99 percentile in the MAHCET for MBA aspirants. They scored between 151 and 165. Not a single student cracked the exam to score a cent percentile.
Rahul Nair, Saurabh Navaratne, Kunal Shah, Amogh Talwar, Jaideep Mehendale, Pranav Pant, Sarang Lahoti, Gaurav Dave and Shashank Prabhu scored the highest—99.99 percentile.
On the other hand, the lowest positive score ‘1’ was scored by eight candidates who were awarded 0.05 percentile; 34 candidates scored ‘0’ marks with zero percentile.
One of the 99.99 percentile scorers, Talwar, graduate of D J Sanghvi College of Engineering, said he had taken the CET last year but without preparing for it. “I even took the CAT and converted my scores to some calls from the newer IIMs. But I wanted to join one of the top 10 institutes of India and hence took the CET. I’m seeking admission in JBIMS,” said the Lokhandwala resident who works for a start-up.
“Like most years, most of the candidates come from an engineering background,” said a DTE official. The centralized admission process will start in May and go on till June, added the official.
Candidates can download their score cards by logging on to DTE Maharashtra website. MAH-MBA/MMS-CET 2016 marks have been displayed in terms of percentile on the scorecard of MAHMBA/MMS-CET 2016.
The admission process has been tweaked. Students seeking admission even under the management quota must register under the CAP. And the DTE will verify their documents before candidates can seek admission.
In all, 69,319 candidates securing zero and above will be eligible to seek admission to MBA/MMS/PGDBM/PGDM courses in colleges across Maharashtra. Last year, 57,224 of the total 60,292 candidates aspired to get into management schools.
In all, there are 392 B-schools across Maharashtra with a total student intake of 43,810. This year, Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies, which earned the autonomous status last year, is back in MAHCET’s fold. It held its own admission process. The admission process at JBIMS will be through CAP, to be conducted by DTE Maharashtra. JBIMS will not conduct any GD-PI for admission to the MMS 2016-18 batch.
