Mumbai: Actress Aishwarya Rai Bachchan says every on screen performance by her father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan, deserves an award.

Asked for her reaction to Amitabh named as Best Actor for Piku during the 63rd National Film Awards, Aishwarya said: “It’s not the first time and we are very proud of Paa… he has won his award yet again. His every performance deserves to be celebrated. Thank you on behalf of Paa and we love him and god bless him.”

Amitabh played Bhaskor Banerjee, the hypochondriac father of an independent young woman, Piku (who as played by Deepika Padukone) in the film. It was directed by Shoojit Sircar.

Aishwarya was attending the L’Oreal Women of Worth awards 2016 in Mumbai on Monday, and looked stunning in a white sari. She obligingly posed with shutterbugs to click selfies.

Aishwarya had recently made her Bollywood comeback with Jazbaa. She is slated to return to the screen with Omung Kumar’s Sarbjit.

Aishwarya had famously shared the screen with her father-in-law Amitabh, and husband Abhishek Bachchan, in the song Kajra Re, from the film Bunty Aur Babli.
