Hyderabad: The Congress, on Sunday, staged a walkout in the Telangana Legislative Assembly over Karimnagar gang rape case in which a 23-year-old Dalit woman was allegedly raped by three accused.
The woman, who aspires to become a police officer, was allegedly raped, filmed and blackmailed by three of her batch-mates for almost two weeks in Veenavanka village in Karimnagar in February.

The three accused, G Srinivas, M Anjaiah and M Rakesh, who were also taking coaching to join police force, raped and filmed the woman while she kept pleading with them to let her go.
Giving a statement on the case, home minister Nayani Narasimha Reddy told the House that the government would give the rape victim a government job.
He also said the police sub-inspector concerned was kept under suspension.
Not satisfied with the statement, the Congress members wanted a clarification on the minister's statement and further debate, to which the government did not oblige. Following this, the Congress members staged a walkout.
